U.S. Under-16 Women's National Team Ties German Under-17s at Bradenton
CHICAGO (Tuesday, March 11, 2003) - The U.S. Under-16 Women's National Team tied the German Under-17 team 2-2, during a friendly today at the IMG Academy in Bradenton. Ashley Myers and Brittany Bock notched the two goals for the U.S.
Germany struck first in the game, scoring in the 17th minute, but Myers got the equalizer five minutes later. Amera Abdullah had the assist on the goal. The U.S. struck again in the 29th minute when Bock knocked home a penalty kick past the German goalkeeper.
The U.S. held onto their one-goal lead until the 79th minute, when the Germans found the back of the net to tie the game 2-2.
