U.S. Women’s National Team Matches at 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup In Germany To Be Broadcast Live on Espn


U.S. Women Kick Off Group C Against Korea DPR on Tuesday, June 28 at 11:45 a.m. ET;
All 32 Matches Will be Broadcast Live and in High Definition on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV

CHICAGO (March 21, 2011) – The U.S. Women’s National Team will kickoff its 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign against Korea DPR live on ESPN on Tuesday, June 28 at 11:45 a.m. ET from World Cup Stadium in Dresden. The match will also be available on ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV. Details of the Spanish language broadcast schedule will be available in the near future.

The schedule continues with USA-Colombia on July 2 at 11:30 a.m. ET from World Cup Stadium in Sinsheim, with the U.S. closing out Group C action against Sweden on July 6 at 2:30 p.m. ET from World Cup Stadium Wolfsburg.  Both matches will be broadcast live on ESPN and ESPN3.com.

ESPN will present comprehensive coverage of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup June 26 – July 17 from nine cities across Germany. All 32 matches will be aired live and in high definition on ESPN, ESPN2 as well as ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV. 

ESPN will air 23 FIFA Women’s World Cup matches, while ESPN2 will feature nine matches. All programming on ESPN and ESPN2 will also be available online through ESPNnetworks.com, which is accessible to fans who receive their video service from an affiliated provider. The opening match of the three-week tournament featuring host nation and defending FIFA Women’s World Cup champion Germany vs. Canada will air on ESPN, ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV, on Sunday, June 26 at 11:30 a.m. from the Berlin Olympiastadion. Coverage will begin earlier in the day with Nigeria vs. France featuring on ESPN2, ESPN3.com and ESPN Mobile TV at 8:45 a.m. ET from the Rhein Neckar Arena in Sinsheim.

The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team will play a pair of domestic matches in May to prepare for the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, facing Japan on May 14 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and on May 18 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.

The match at Columbus Crew Stadium will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET and be broadcast live exclusively on Fox Soccer. The second leg in Cary kicks off at 7 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPN2.

For the game in Cary, tickets go on sale to the general public Tuesday, March 22, at 10 a.m. ET through ussoccer.com and by phone at 1-800-745-3000. (Note: tickets will only be sold at the WakeMed Soccer Park ticket office on the day of the game.) For the match in Columbus, tickets go on sale to the general public the following Tuesday, March 29, at 10 a.m. ET through ussoccer.com, by calling 1-800-745-3000, at all central Ohio Ticketmaster ticket centers (including Kroger stores) and the Crew Stadium ticket office (open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.).
