CHICAGO (Friday, November 9, 2001) - Registration has begun for U.S. Soccer's 2002 Winter "West" National Coaching School, which will be held at the picturesque University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus from January 2-10, 2002. Space is limited, but still available for the "A", "B", and "C" courses at the Las Vegas school and the "A-Audit" course being full.
Situated in the southern tip of Nevada in a desert valley surrounded by mountains, the campus has outstanding soccer facilities, and is the ideal location for a mid-winter coaching course. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is located at 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89154.
For more than 30 years now, U.S. Soccer has offered National Coaching Schools across four levels of licensing ("A", "B", "C" and U.S. Soccer Youth Licenses). Candidates attend National Coaching Schools like the one in Las Vegas to undergo a nine-day program of field and classroom sessions as well as testing on theoretical and practical applications of the game. Over the years, nearly 10,000 coaches have earned a National License, with 1,290 attaining an elite "A" level license.
In addition to the Winter "West" session in Las Vegas, limited space is also available at U.S. Soccer's Winter "East" Coaching Schools. Those schedules include:
- National "A" License, January 2-10, 2002
University of Tampa (Tampa, FL)
- Pro "B" License, January 2-10, 2002
Cocoa Expo Sports Center (Cocoa, FL)
- U.S. Soccer Youth License, January 2-7, 2002
Jekyll Island Sports Complex (Jekyll Island, GA)
