U.S. Soccer Begins Search for New Paralympic Head Coach
CHICAGO (October 2, 3013) – U.S. Soccer will begin a search to hire a new head coach for the U.S. Paralympic National Team. Led by longtime head coach Jay Hoffman since 2002, the U.S. Paralympic National Team recently completed play in the 2013 Intercontinental Cup in Spain (finishing in eighth place out of 16 teams), as it continues to target qualification for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Hoffman vacates his role after guiding the team at the 2004 Athens and 2012 London Paralympic Games. U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati and U.S. Soccer CEO/Secretary General Dan Flynn will begin the search process for a new coach immediately, but there is no set timetable for when a decision will be determined.
