U.S. U-18 WNT Defeats Sweden U-19s, 2-0, in La Manga, Spain
LA MANGA, Spain (March 10, 2008) – The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team, led by head coach Dean Duerst, downed the Sweden U-19 Women’s National Team 2-0 as midfielder Katy Frierson scored both goals. The first came just six minutes into the game off a volley from a cross from Laurie Nosbusch and the clincher came via the penalty spot in the 69th minute.
The USA out-shot Sweden 14-5. Bianca Henninger earned the shutout in goal for the USA. The U.S. team plays Norway’s U-19s on March 12 and France’s U-19s on March 14.
