U-20 MNT Defeat Full Haiti National Team

FRISCO, Texas (March 28, 2007) - The U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team got a goal from Gabriel Ferrari in injury time to defeat the full Haiti Men's National Team, 2-1, this evening in the first match of a doubleheader with the U.S. Men's National Team in Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.

The U.S. took the lead in the 55th minute when Freddy Adu dribbled through a couple players at the top of the penalty area, and slipped the ball behind the last defender before getting tripped up as he ran into the box.

Adu stepped up and buried the penalty into the left side of the net.

Haiti scored the equalizer in the 75th minute when Ferrari lost the ball and the ball was quickly slipped through to Cadet Eliphene. The Haiti forward was able to hold off the charging Ofori Sarkodie and slip it past U.S. goalkeeper Chris Seitz.

The U.S. got the game-winner in extra time when Tim Ward served in a ball from the left flank to the back post where Dax McCarty headed it back across the goalmouth and Ferrari was able to get a touch with his chest to direct it into the net among two Haiti defenders and goalkeeper Fenelon Gabare.
