Week of Aug. 14-20

On tap for this week we've got a few international friendlies during the week before we kick off the EPL season this weekend.

What: England vs. Moldova (European U-21 Qualifying)
Station: Fox Soccer Channel
When: 3 p.m. ET
Why: Not much else going on Tuesday in the world of soccer, so why not check out this U-21 Qualifier. It will be your chance to see some of the upcoming England stars…and Moldova stars (OK, so not so much Moldova).

What: Norway vs. Brazil
Station: Gol TV
When: 2 p.m. ET
Why: Dunga took over as coach of Brazil and has put together an interesting roster for his first-ever match as manager. Norway is no slouch, so it will be interesting to see how the former Brazilian star fares in his inaugural game.

What: England vs. Greece
Station: Fox Soccer Channel
When: 3 p.m. ET
Why: Similar to Dunga, Steve McClaren will also be facing his first match as head coach of England. He didn’t include Beckham on the roster and we’ll see if McClaren knows what he’s doing when they go up against a tough Greece squad.

What: Columbus vs. Real Salt Lake
Station: Fox Soccer Channel
When: 7:30 p.m. ET
Why: Real Salt Lake is coming off a big win against Colorado and if they can get a point against the hapless Crew, they’d pull themselves out of the cellar.

What: Nuremberg vs. Borussia Moenchengladbach
Station: Gol TV
When: 2:25 p.m. ET
Why: Here’s your first chance to see Kasey Keller in action with Borussia for the first time since being named captain of the club.

What: Reading vs. Middlesbrough
Station: Fox Soccer Channel
When: 2:15 p.m. ET (delayed)
Why: With the help of Marcus Hahnemann and Bobby Convey, Reading moved into the Premiership for the first time ever. Their first match may set the tone for the rest of the season as they fight to stay in the top division.

What: D.C. United vs. Colorado
Station: ESPN2
When: 4 p.m. ET
Why: D.C. is running away with the best record in the MLS, while Colorado is looking to keep pace in the West. If D.C. hopes to earn the most points ever in a season, they’ll need to defeat teams like Colorado along the way.

What: PSV vs. NEC
Station: Setanta Sports USA
When: 6:30 a.m. ET
Why: Both DaMarcus Beasley and Lee Nguyen are with PSV and we might get the chance to see one or both in their match against NEC to start the season.

What: Chelsea vs. Manchester City
Station: Fox Soccer Channel
When: 11 a.m. ET
Why:  Chelsea is the reigning champs, but former U.S. captain Claudio Reyna and his Man City teammates will be looking to get out to an early start this season.
