U.S. Futsal National Team Splits Two-Game Series with France

U.S. Claims Second at Recent Four Nations Tournament in England

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (June 15, 2014) – The U.S. Futsal Men’s National Team split a two game set against the France Futsal National Team, falling 5-3 in the first match on Thursday, June 12, and winning 5-2 in the rematch on Saturday, June 14.

Philip Surprise scored in both matches for the U.S. and was joined by Lucas Stauffer and Bryan Perez in the 5-3 loss and Bato Radoncic, Brian Harris, Leo Gibson and Nelson Santana in the 5-2 win. Stauffer is a former U.S. Soccer Development Academy product with the Shattuck-Saint Mary’s Academy.

The double header against France came on the heels of the Four Nations Tournament in Newcastle, England, where the U.S. placed second with a 1-0-2 record by defeating Cyprus 5-1 and tying both England and Qatar 1-1.
