Tozer Names Roster for 2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship Qualifying Matches

SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA (May 2, 2016) – U.S. Futsal National Team head coach Keith Tozer has named 14 players to represent the United States in the Qualifying matches for the CONCACAF Futsal Championship in San Jose, Costa Rica. The USA will face Canada in a two-game play-in series, the winner of which will qualify for a spot in the 2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship. The series will kickoff on Wednesday, May 4 at 10 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the action on Twitter @ussoccer_ynt.

All 14 players selected were a part of the USA’s 24-man roster for the April training camp held in Redondo Beach, Calif. The roster features two goalkeepers, three defenders, six midfielders, and three forwards.

“Having the 24 players was huge for us because this is the largest camp we’ve ever had in twenty years,” said Tozer. “Players had a high level of competition here and there was a great learning process going on. In years past, we brought in 12 players and took 12 players. We’ve had a very busy last six months and we’re excited to begin these games with the men we’ve identified to represent the U.S.”

Five of the 14 players chosen by Tozer were on the USA’s 2012 CONCACAF Futsal Championship roster: Kraig Chiles, Patrick Healey, Bryan Perez, Nelson Santana and Danny Waltman.
