Several U.S. Men’s National Team players made good impressions with their clubs before heading to San Jose for the kickoff of camp Monday ahead of Friday’s World Cup Qualifier against Honduras, presented by Volpi Foods.
At midweek, Christian Pulisic was deployed centrally in Borussia Dortmund’s rescheduled DFB Pokal clash with Sportfreunde Lotte and opened the scoring in the 57th minute, following a smart overlap on Ousmane Dembele’s run through midfield. His third goal in four matches, the goal pushed BVB to a comfortable 3-0 win and on to a Semifinal date with Bayern Munich on April 26.

The following day, Kellyn Acosta, Walker Zimmerman and FC Dallas opened up their CONCACAF Champions Semifinal series with Omar Gonzalez and Pachuca at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Despite conceding an early goal from Pachuca’s Francisco Jara, FC Dallas battled back, gaining the equalizer through Maxi Urrutti in the 44th minute.
Dallas took the lead on aggregate just before the hour mark when Acosta smashed home a free kick from 25 yards in the 57th minute. The goal was Acosta’s fourth in five matches this season for FC Dallas and also made him the club’s all-time scoring leader in CONCACAF competitions with three.

At the weekend, Jozy Altidore was instrumental in helping Toronto FC earn its first win of the season, assisting on the first goal before adding one of his own in a 2-0 win at Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
In the 76th minute, Raheem Edwards’ crossed from the left to find Altidore, who nodded the ball back to the middle where Victor Vázquez headed inside the right post. Altidore added his second goal of the season four minutes later, taking Jonathan Osorio’s pass on the turn before gaining space in the box and firing a low effort past Whitecaps goalkeeper Spencer Richey.

In Germany, defender John Brooks scored his first goal since December 5, 2015, heading home Vladímir Darida’s corner kick from the right in the 69th minute of Hertha Berlin’s 4-2 defeat at Köln.

Playing his third straight game at right back, Graham Zusi contributed to Sporting KC’s first goal of the season, laying off for Benny Feilhaber before the midfielder hit a long blast to give the home side a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute of a 2-1 win against San Jose Earthquakes.
Seattle Sounders FC's MNT strike duo of Clint Dempsey and Jordan Morris did not disappoint in the the final match of the weekend. Taking on New York Red Bulls at home, Morris drew a penalty kick in the 27th minute which Dempsey stepped up and converted to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. After conceding a 57th minute equalizer, Morris restored Seattle's lead nine minutes later when he headed home his first of the season off a cross from Nicolás Lodeiro to send Seattle on its way to a 3-1 win.

- U.S. MNT center back Geoff Cameron went the full 90 minutes for the second game, playing defensive midfield in Stoke City’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.
- Jermaine Jones and Sebastian Lletget both went the distance in midfield to help the LA Galaxy to their first win of the season, a 2-1 win at Real Salt Lake.
