The possible sites and venues for the 2008 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final have been announced as four teams prepare for the semifinal matches that will take place Tuesday, Aug. 12. Once again, the U.S. Open Cup final will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel.
The U.S. Open Cup Adjudication and Discipline Panel has suspended Chicago Fire midfielder Cuauhtemoc Blanco for six U.S. Open Cup matches or the next two years of U.S. Open Cup competition, whichever is greater. The suspension is due to his actions during the U.S. Open Cup match between the Chicago Fire and D.C. United on July 8, 2008.
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will be evenly represented in the semifinals – and final – as two teams from Major League Soccer and the USL First Division were victorious in their quarterfinal matches on Tuesday evening.

U.S. Soccer announced the possible semifinal scenarios for the 2008 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The semifinal round will be played on August 12, with the winners of the quarterfinal round to be determined on July 8.
