U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Pia Sundhage will bring 27 players to a two-week training camp at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., starting Monday, May 19, and running through Monday, June 2.
U.S. Women’s National Team captain Christie Rampone had surgery yesterday morning to remove her gall bladder at the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, Calif. The procedure was performed by Dr. Craig Smith.
The U.S. Women’s National Team will face Brazil in its final two matches before the 2008 Olympics, starting the two-game set on July 13 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. (2 p.m. MT live on ESPN), before traveling to San Diego, Calif., for a July 16 game at the University of San Diego’s Torero Stadium (7 p.m. PT live on Fox Soccer Channel).
The dates, match-ups and kickoff times for the 2008 Peace Queen Cup have been confirmed as the U.S. Women’s National Team will play its final tournament before the 2008 Olympics, in Suwon, South Korea from June 14-21.
