Game #6: Charlotte Independence (USL) 1, Carolina RailHawks (NASL) 0
In the first-ever meeting between the two sides from the Tar Heel state, neither team could find a firm footing in attack and instead traded possession through much of the first hour. In the 71st minute, an Independence forward seemed to be taken down in the box, but the referee waived played on. Ten minutes later though, Ryan Finley came good, finding the back of the net to take Charlotte to a 1-0 victory over their NASL counterparts. The win pushes the first-year USL side to a Fourth Round clash with the New England Revolution.
