The New York Pancyprian Freedoms overcame a 1-0 first-half deficit to defeat New York Red Bulls U-23 2-1 at home in First Round U.S. Open Cup action. The Red Bulls carried a 1-0 lead into the halftime break thanks to a Zach Knudson penalty kick in the 14th minute, but Pancyprian countered with two second-half goals from Yanick Reyering in the 51st and 66th minutes. Three-time U.S. Open Cup champion New York Pancyprian Freedoms will host Jersey Express in the Second Round on May 18.
