L.A. Wolves FC (Calif.) 4, San Diego Zest (PDL) 2
Chuck Pitts opened the scoring for L.A. Wolves in the 36th minute. Miguel Sanchez doubled the advantage by getting on the end of a corner kick just before the hour mark and L.A. Wolves got a third goal in the 62nd. The San Diego Zest regained some hope when substitute Joseph Fortini pulled one back in the 70th minute, but L.A. Wolves took back the three-goal advantage when Paolo Cardozo’s individual effort in the box led to an own goal. San Diego got a consolation penalty kick from Patrick McGrath in the 86th, but it wasn’t enough to spark a full comeback as L.A. Wolves FC booked their Second Round date against Chula Vista FC.
