San Francisco Deltas (NASL) 2, vs. Burlingame Dragons (PDL) 1
A battle of the Bay Area sides played out on neutral turf in Palo Alto on the campus of Stanford University. The underdogs from the east side of the Bay Bridge jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the 29th minute when Jamael Cox sent a tidy finish past the outstretched arms of San Francisco goalkeeper Steward Ceus. The Dragons carried their slim lead into the locker room, but the Deltas equalized seconds after play resumed on a flick from Reiner Ferreira off a Kyle Bekker free kick. San Francisco completed the rally in the 63rd minute as Tommy Heinemann deposited his first touch of the evening into the back of the net. The referee crew briefly conferred about a potential offside call, but the goal stood. The Deltas move on to the Third Round for a tilt against Phoenix Rising FC.
