FC Golden State Force vs. L.A. Wolves FC

MAY 9 | 7 p.m. PT | Rio Hondo College, Whittier, Calif.

FC Golden State Force (PDL) 3, L.A. Wolves (Calif.) 1
Playing with growing confidence throughout, FC Golden State Force of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) defended their home turf at Rio Hondo College, and dispatched U.S. Open Cup veterans L.A. Wolves FC without much trouble. A chance deflection on a cross from Jose Carrera-Garcia earned teammate Marcelo Manfredini a goal for the Force in the 17th minute. With mostly new faces and very few veterans from the teams that made deep runs in each of the last two Open Cups, L.A. Wolves FC of the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) missed more than a few opportunities to score in the first half and were unable to find the back of the net until Jose Gomez pushed a header inside the far post in the 84th minute. Allisson Faramilio and Amilcar Lopez Ruiz added second-half goals for FC Golden State FC, who advance through to the Second Round and will travel to play Orange County Soccer Club (USL).
