Myrtle Beach Mutiny (PDL) 1, So. GA Tormenta FC (PDL) 2
South Georgia Tormenta FC marked its first-ever Open Cup appearance with a 2-1 victory vs. Myrtle Beach Mutiny. After the teams traded chances in a scoreless first half, things opened up after the break. The Mutiny found the back of the net first, as Rooby Delusma scored the game’s opening goal in the 56th minute.

But Tormenta refused to go down without a fight, storming back late in the half. In the 76th minute, Jad Arslan found a late equalizer for the Peach State-based club. The gridlock didn’t last long. Tormenta’s Toni Soler rippled the net in the 82nd minute to complete the comeback and give South Georgia the victory. Tormenta will face the USL’s Charleston Battery in a Second Round matchup next week.
