Goalkeeper Trevor Spangenberg made two saves in a 4-3 shootout win to boost the Richmond Kickers over Reading United AC and into the third round at Alvernia University Stadium in Reading, Pa. The teams played to a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes. Spangenberg denied Alexander Lipinski on Reading's third penalty before making a diving save on Khori Bennett's attempt on the final penalty kick. Midfielder Neil Hlavaty converted what proved to be the game-winning PK on Richmond's fifth attempt. The Kickers grabbed the lead in the eighth minute as Koby Osei-Wusu scored his first goal for the club. Reading managed to knot things up in the 70th minute. Richmond will host Penn FC (USL) in the third round at John Gurski Stadium at Wilson H.S. in West Lawn, Pa. on Wednesday, May 23.
