Under-20s: O'Neill started in all five games at the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship to lead the squad to a second place finishin teh tournament and a spot in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey. O'Neill scored his first goal with the U-20s during a 3-1 victory against Portugal in June 14, 2013. Heading into the U-20 World Cup, O' Neill has appeared in nine games with eight starts and 776 minutes. In 2012, O’Neill was called up to the U-20 MNT for the Marbella Cup in Spain in October and made his first appearance and start with any national team. O’Neill opened 2013 with two full 90-minute games against Panama in preparation of the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
The Colorado Rapids homegrown signing has played a bigger role for the sqaud in 2013, earning regular starting minutes on Colorado's back line. Prior to the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, O'Neill started in eight of 10 games played, logging 792 minutes. In June of 2012, O’Neill signed with the Colorado Rapids as a homegrown player. O’Neill holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and Ireland, where he was born and stayed for approximately a year before his family moved to Boulder, Colo.
