A resourceful player who is industrious and technically sound, Williams can be deployed in a variety of positions. A dual citizen of Germany and the United States, he has chosen to represent the U.S. Men’s National Team and appeared against Honduras on Oct. 8, 2011, becoming the first player to earn his first cap under head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Williams joined Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga at the end of August in a three-year deal from SC Freiburg.
