Scottish Premier League giants Rangers have announced the signing of U.S. international midfielder Alejandro Bedoya, pending the approval of a work permit. Bedoya joins Maurice Edu in Glasgow where Rangers have won three consecutive SPL titles, and continues the tradition of the likes of Claudio Reyna and DaMarcus Beasley at the famed club.
A member of the 30-man preliminary roster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Bedoya earned his first cap in 2010 and has since collected 13 total. He appeared in five of six games in the USA's run to the Gold Cup final, starting in all three matches of the knockout phase.
Rangers open their title defense July 23 at home to Hearts, and begin action in third round qualifying for the UEFA Champions League on July 26 against Malmo of Sweden.
