The U.S. team started its first complete day in Germany with a weight-lifting session in the morning. The USA is training at a fabulous Sportschule, one of hundreds across Germany, but this one on the outskirts of Munich is supposed to be one of the best in Europe and we can't argue. They pretty much got everything we need, including several very nice fields and modern weight room. The U.S. team got in a good one-hour workout, with players doing their own weight routines, some running, some ab work and some stretching. All-in-all, a good way to shake off the jet leg.
Yael Averbuch goes "old school" with the well worn medicine ball. Excellent for core strengthing.
Bad weather outside? No problem. The Sportschule features an almost full-field indoor facility. Also good for some warm-up running.
The world's largest tetherball! Tobin Heath has some fun with a soccer ball on a rope that hung two stories above the gym floor. Nice backheel Tobin.
