This is the first time for these players in an airport. NOT.
The U.S. team left a warm Atlanta this afternoon (the team had a regen training in the morning) for a cooler Philadelphia on what was the longest short flight in a while. A bit of a delay at the outbound gate, some serious turbulence upon decent (was only about 10 seconds, but seemed like 5 minutes) and then some time spent on the tarmac in Philly before getting to the gate. Still, the USA has arrived for its Oct. 6 tussle with China from PPL Park, which will be broadcast live on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET. Some of the U.S. players will have tomorrow off from training, but the rest will hit the field to prepare for the Chinese, who were fortunate to only let in just two goals in the USA's 2-1 victory last night in Kennesaw. The Americans will no dbout be looking to improve its possession and finishing on Wednesday night. The trip to Philly is a homecoming for three U.S. players -- Heather Mitts, Lori Lindsey and Amy Rodriguez -- who helped the Philadelphia Independence to the WPS championship game this past season. Mitts also played for the Philadelphia Charge in the WUSA.
