MNT Jun 1, 2010
After a busy two weeks (well, just over), the U.S. team is finally in South Africa and getting acclimated to the time change (only six hours from the East Coast), the altitude (4173 feet) and the weather (a very nice, crisp low 60s). For the first time, it seems, in a long time, the team wasn't arriving somewhere or getting ready to move. The squad is now settled at its base camp and focusing on the opening match against England on June 12. The players had an optional lifting session this morning and the first training in South Africa this afternoon, but for the most part have been relaxing and hanging out in one of two game rooms set up for the team. That means lots of FIFA World Cup 2010 video games, cards, darts, ping-pong and even some foosball. And when you have sunsets like this (below) its not hard to relax.
