The Development Academy’s growing class of alumni shown to its fullest during the New England Revolution’s 5-1 victory against the Philadelphia Union on Sunday in Major League Soccer action.
Kelyn Rowe (pictured, formerly of Crossfire Premier) scored two goals and earned MLS Man of the Match honors to lead New England. But he was not the only Academy alum to tally as former New York Red Bulls Academy player Juan Agudelo and Revolution Academy product Diego Fagundez each added a score. New England’s other score was a Union own goal.
Acosta Producing for FCD: MLS rookie and FC Dallas Academy product Kellyn Acosta has had a stellar first month in league play. He made his debut earlier this month and so far has logged five games, four starts and 370 minutes. Acosta also was awarded MLS Man of the Match during FCD’s 2-2 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday. Acosta’s busy summer included a trip with the U-20 Men’s National Team to Turkey for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
