In Part 1 of Back Home with Amy Rodriguez, we went to the USC campus to follow A-Rod in her ongoing journey to graduate. To see Amy walking around, you wouldn't know she was an Olympic champion and Women's World Cup Team player. She looked just like a normal college student as she took us on a tour of campus, to where she works in the athletic tutoring center, to the library and on the way to a big midterm exam. Of course, she had to purchase a scantron first …32 cents.
It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles and even though most of A-Rod's class has graduated, you could tell she loves the campus and college life.
In Part 2 of Back Home with Amy Rodriguez, she took us to the USC soccer office in Heritage Hall and talked about her decision to attend USC, where she won a national championship in 2007, in large part to Amy's scoring exploits.
We walked through campus to McAlister Field, where she played all her home games, and she took us back in time to a goal she scored, which she says was the first ever with her head.
Amy also gave us some insight on how she's managed to balance school and soccer during her entire college career while playing with the U.S. National Teams.
We also got a special treat as our trip to USC coincided with Amy's now fiance asking her to marry him the weekend before. She talks about that, as well as what she was looking forward to in Germany at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup.
