CARSON, CALIF. (April 11, 2011) -- The U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team will come together for a training camp at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., running from April 23-30. The U-20s are still very early in their preparations for qualifying for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be held in Uzbekistan. U.S. Soccer Technical Director April Heinrichs has called in 26 players, 11 of them in college. Of the seven forwards called up, just one is in college in Wake Forest - striker Katie Stengel. The U.S. U-20s will scrimmage against UC Irvine during the camp as well as against the U.S. Under-23 and the U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Teams, which will be holding concurrent camps.
