LAS ROZAS, Spain (Sept. 30, 2013) – The U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team was held to a 2-2 draw by Las Rozas Academy U-17s in the first game of a three-match tour of Madrid, Spain.
USA forward Joe Gallardo opened the scoring in just the fourth minute only to see Las Rozas knot the game at one a piece with a 15th-minute penalty kick. Halftime substitute Christian Pulisic, who came on for Josh Perez, regained the lead for the U.S. U-17s, slotting home a penalty kick of his own to make it 2-1 in the 78th minute. The lead lasted only two minutes, as the hosts drew level at 2-2 in the final minute of play.
The U.S. next faces the Real Madrid Academy U-15s on Tuesday, Oct. 1, before finishing the tour against the U-17 academy team of La Liga club Rayo Vallecano on Oct. 3.
