CHICAGO (Dec. 17, 2014) – The U.S. Women’s National Team’s game against Argentina at the International Tournament of Brasilia was postponed because of inclement weather and poor field conditions at Mane Garrincha Stadium. The match will now be played on Thursday, Dec. 18, with kickoff set for 4:20 p.m. ET.
In addition to the cancellation of Wednesday’s USA-Argentina game, the match between China PR and host Brazil was also postponed to Thursday. The two group leaders will kick off at 7 p.m. ET.
The USA’s game against Argentina will be the team’s third group match before the placement stage on Sunday, Dec. 21. Brazil leads the four-team field with a 2-0-0 record, followed by China (1-1-0) and the USA (0-1-1). China holds a seven-goal advantage over the U.S. WNT on goal difference (China is plus-6, compared to the USA’s minus-1). Argentina is 0-2-0 at the International Tournament.
