CHICAGO (Nov. 5, 2015) – In an effort to continue providing unique coaching opportunities to its membership, U.S. Soccer presents the 2016 U.S. Soccer Coaching Education Workshop, which will take place March 12-20 in Brussels, Belgium. Registration will open on Monday, Nov. 23, for the 2016 Education Workshop.
Since its inception in March 2009, more than 280 coaches have traveled internationally with the U.S. Soccer Coaching Department to Argentina, Brazil, England, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Portugal.
“The Coaching Education Department has placed an emphasis on developing strong connections with leading countries around the world,” said U.S. Soccer Director of Coaching Education, Dave Chesler. “Our technical study in Belgium will offer yet another perspective on globally recognized coach and player development programs.”
During the workshop, coaches take part in educational lectures with professional coaches, and attend professional training sessions and games. Current U.S. Soccer “A” licensed coaches will earn eight (8) Continuing Education Units upon completion of the workshop.
Entering its eighth year, the aim of U.S. Soccer’s international coaching development program is to expose U.S. coaches to foreign federations and clubs. Participants learn about other international development programs and interact directly with top-level coaches, administrators and players from some of the best clubs in the world.
More detailed information regarding host clubs, pricing and expectations for attending candidates will be available prior to registration. A valid passport is required for U.S. citizens and should be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay. For more information on traveling to Belgium, visit www.state.gov.
