MANAUS, Brazil (Oct. 17, 2011) - The U.S. Futsal National Team posted its second loss of the Futsal Grand Prix tournament in Manaus, Brazil, when the team fell 8-0 against Iran on Oct. 17.
The U.S. lost against Uruguay in the first match of Group C play on Oct. 16 and were unable to get on the scoreboard in both games. The U.S. had its best chance in the tournament in the second half, when Jeremy Ortiz went one-on-one with Iran’s goalkeeper, but Mojtaba Nasirniaie Farouji made the save to protect Iran’s 5-0 lead and clean sheet.
