Holden, who recently joined the Bolton Wanderers of the English Premier League, was injured when he was recklessly tackled by Netherlands midfielder Nigel de Jong in the 30th minute. Jong received a yellow card for the foul, while Holden had to leave the field and was replaced by DaMarcus Beasley.
The U.S. fell 2-1 to the Netherlands in their final match before U.S. head coach names his roster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in early to mid May. The U.S. will begin their pre-World Cup training camp in mid May and play a two-game Send-Off series later in the month before leaving for South Africa. The U.S. will face the Czech Republic on May 25 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn., and then four days later host Turkey in Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, May 29.
