GUADALAJARA (Jan. 24, 2010) -- A late free kick doomed the U.S. U-20 MNT during the Copa Chivas in Guadalajara, as they fell 1-0 to the youth side from Mexican club Tigres.
The lone goal allowed by Earl Edwards came from a direct free kick just outside the penalty area. Moises Orozco lifted the kick over the U.S. wall, where it took a slight deflection over Edwards and into the net.
The loss drops the U.S. to 0-2 in the event, with group play continuing against Brazil tomorrow.
