CHICAGO (Tuesday, September 11, 2001) - Tonight's 2001 Nike U.S. Women's Cup doubleheader at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio has been postponed due to the catastrophic events this morning in the United States.
A final decision on potentially rescheduling the games will be forthcoming.
The USA-Japan game had been scheduled to air live tonight on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET, immediately following a 5:30 p.m. kickoff between Germany and China.
The eighth annual Nike U.S. Women's Cup is being competed between the USA, Germany, China and Japan. The tournament's finale between the USA and China is scheduled for Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Sunday (Sept. 16).
