U.S. Under-20s Open Qualifying With a 6-1 Victory Over Trinidad & Tobago

CARSON, Calif. (January 12, 2005) — The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team scored five goals in the first half, including three goals in the first 10 minutes, as they dominated Trinidad & Tobago 6-1 in their opening match of Group A of the U-20 Final Round CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament this evening at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Midfielder Eddie Gaven was magnificent from his attacking midfielder position, leading the way with a first-half hat trick, knocking home his three strikes in the first 25 minutes.

Sigi Schmid Closes Up Final Camp Before Qualifying

(Dec. 23, 2004) - After brining in 30 players to The Home Depot Center for the past 12 days, U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team head coach Sigi Schmid now has the difficult task of choosing the 22 players (18-player roster, plus four alternates) he’ll bring back for the final camp before the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament. Schmid sat down with ussoccer.com and talked about the bright spots that came out of this final camp of 2004, when he’ll announce the 22-player roster and whether Eddie Gaven and Jonathan Spector are still possibilities to be called in for the qualifying tournament.

BOYDS, Maryland (Wednesday, November 19, 2003) - The U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team finished off St. Kitts & Nevis with a 4-0 victory on a dark and rainy Wednesday evening at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, Maryland. The 4-0 victory, coupled with a 6-0 victory in St. Kitts on Saturday, gives the U.S. a 10-0 aggregate victory over the tiny island nation and advances the U.S. to the final round of Olympic qualifying being played in Mexico in February.

GAETA, Italy (Sept. 16, 2002) - The U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team lost 2-0 on Monday afternoon to Uruguay in the finals of the FISF International Soccer Tournament at Stadio Riciniello in Gaeta, Italy. The loss comes after the U.S. had defeated both England and Yugoslavia, and tied Russia, en route to winning their group in the tournament being played to commemorate the memory of the victims of Sept. 11, 2001.

U.S. U-17 Men's National Team Defeats Costa Rica, 3-2, in International Friendly in Lancaster, Calif.

LANCASTER, California (Monday, May 26, 2003) - The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team downed Costa Rica 3-2 in an entertaining friendly this morning at Lancaster Soccer Complex in Lancaster, California. The match was the third between the two squads this year, with the U.S. capturing its first victory over Costa Rica. Eddie Gaven, Freddy Adu and Guillermo Gonzalez all scored for the U.S. in the game.
