An imposing defender who is dangerous on set pieces, Omar Gonzalez earned his first national team cap in 2010 when he started against Brazil. Now entering his third year as a professional, he is part of an emerging pool of young talent for the United States at the domestic and international level.

Started alongside Carlos Bocanegra at centerback in the Aug. 10, 2010 match against Brazil at New Meadowlands Stadium.
