  • PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (Oct. 13, 2008) - Midfielder Brian Carroll and forward Chris Rolfe have been added to the U.S. Men’s National Team’s roster for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier, replacing Pablo Mastroeni and Robbie Rogers who both suffered injuries during their respective Major League Soccer matches on Sunday.

Mastroeni injured his knee during the Rapids’ 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy, while a Rogers suffered a sore back in the Columbus Crew’s 2-2 draw with the Chicago Fire.

The 27-year-old Carroll has six caps for the United States, making his debut in the 6-0 win against Panama in the World Cup qualifier on Oct. 13, 2004 at RFK Stadium. Carroll boarded a flight on Monday morning and will reach Trinidad later this evening.

Rolfe has been added to the mix, and will arrive into Port of Spain on Tuesday afternoon prior to the team's official training in the stadium. Rolfe has played eight times for the full team, most recently in an appearance in the USA's 1-0 win in Barbados on June 22 in the second round of qualifying.
