Arena Names 20-Man Roster to Face Poland on March 1 in Kaiserslautern, Germany

CHICAGO (February 24, 2006) - U.S. Manager Bruce Arena’s roster for the upcoming match vs. Poland on March 1 in Kaiserslautern, Germany (tickets), took another hit with an injury suffered by Todd Dunivant.

The L.A. Galaxy defender did not play in the club’s 0-0 draw in the opening leg of their CONCACAF Champions’ Cup quarterfinal matchup vs. Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa. He has been diagnosed with a hip injury and a timetable for his return has yet to be determined.

The 25-year-old Dunivant burst onto the scene in his debut with the full Men’s National Team, setting up two goals in the USA’s 5-0 win vs. Norway in his first career start. His performance earned him another start ten days later when the U.S. dispatched Japan, 3-2, at SBC Park in San Francisco.

Injuries have already forced Arena to shuffle his lineup, as Chris Klein takes Pat Noonan’s place after the New England Revolution forward injured his hamstring. Dunivant will not travel with the team to Germany, and Arena will not name a replacement, reducing the U.S. roster to 19 players.

Following their match vs. Poland, the U.S. will return to Germany three weeks later to face the 2006 World Cup hosts on March 22, in Dortmund.
