U.S. U-17 MNT Defeats PDL's Bakersfield Brigade  

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (June 17, 2006) - The U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team defeated the Bakersfield Brigade of the Premier Development League, 2-1, on Saturday, June 17, at Bakersfield Christian High School in Bakersfield, Calif. Goals came on either side of halftime from Abdusalem Ibrahim and Brendan King.

Ibrahim scored in the 32nd minute when Israel Sesay slotted him a pass across the top of the box. Ibrahim came running on to the ball and hit a blast into the upper corner of the goal from 17 yards out.

King had the second goal of the match in the 65thth minute. He received the ball just inside the box and shot it near post, just squeezing it between the goalkeeper and the post.

The U.S. will face the Los Angeles Galaxy Reserves on Thursday, June 22.
