U.S. U-20 Women Sweep Finland in Last Two Matches Before World Cup in Russia
The U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team won its final two full international matches before the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship, taking two matches against the Finland U-20 women during a tour of Finland from July 14-22.

The USA will open the 3rd FIFA world championship for youth women on Aug. 18 against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Moscow.

The USA started the trip with a 12-0 stomping of Finnish women's club SCR on July 18. Midfielder Casey Nogueira pounded in four goals while forwards Lauren Cheney, Kelley O’Hara and Jordan Angeli had two each. Amanda Poach and Jessica Rostedt each had singles scores.

Finland will also be participating in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship, drawn into Group B with China, Nigeria and Canada.

In the first match, O'Hara notched a hat trick, her first at the U-20 level, accounting for all three goals in the 3-2 victory. She scored in the 27th minute to tie the game at 1-1 before the USA gave up a goal in the 50th minute. O'Hara equalized again in the 63rd and then got a dramatic winning goal in stoppage time of the second half, heading in a shot from Jordan Angeli.

The USA didn't have nearly as much trouble in the re-match against Finland, winning 7-1 as Cheney and Amy Rodriguez each tallied twice while Angeli, O'Hara and Rostedt added lone goals.

The U.S. U-20s will hold their final training camp before departing for Russia from July 30-Aug. 4 at The Home Depot Center.
