Americans Overseas: European Preview 2006-07

CHICAGO (Aug. 8, 2006) - U.S. international Eddie Lewis kicked off the League Championship campaign in fine fashion, needing only two games to open his scoring account for Leeds United. After the side opened the 2006-07 season with a 1-0 win home to Norwich, the left-winger created several scoring chances before finishing off a goalmouth opportunity from six yards out in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, United would twice surrender the lead, and a stoppage time goal gave Queens Park Rangers a share of the spoils from a
2-2 draw. Leeds has taken four points from their first two matches, and carry on the campaign this weekend with a Sunday match away to Crystal Palace.
