U-21 WNT Wins First Match of England Tour

The U.S. Under-21 Women's National Team won the first of its three games on a trip to Manchester, England, downing the Blackburn Rovers Ladies 2-0 on March 13.

Rovers played without its numerous England National Team players currently on duty with their country in warm-up matches for the Women's World Cup and the USA dominated the game, out-shooting Blackburn 16-1.

In game played in sub-40 degree temperatures on a cold, damp England day, midfielder Tina DiMartino from UCLA got the first goal in the 28th minute, then Kylee Rossi of Tennessee doubled the margin six minutes from time.

The U-21s will face the Leeds Ladies and Everton Ladies as well, before taking in a Manchester United match at Old Trafford at the end of the trip.
