U-21 Women Top Everton, 6-2, on Second Match of England Tour

The U.S. Under-21 Women's National Won the second game on its trip to Manchester, England, taking down the Everton Ladies on March 14 by a 6-2 score in a match played in freezing temperatures and on an artificial surface.

Everton was playing without its England National Team players currently preparing for the Women's World Cup, and the English side had no answer for forward Amy Rodriguez of USC, who scored a hat-trick before 28 minutes had elapsed.

Rodriguez opened the scoring in the 6th minute, followed by a goal from Illinois' Ella Masar goal in the 14th. Everton pulled one back in the 20th minute, but then Rodriguez tallied in the 19th and 27th minutes to give the USA a 4-1 lead at halftime.

Tennessee's Kylee Rossi added her second goal of the tour in the 55th minute and Notre Dame's Amanda Cinalli finished the scoring seven minutes from the end.

Goalkeeper Kelsey Davis of Portland had the assist on Rodriguez' third goal, punting it over the Everton defense for the forward to run onto and lift over the 'keeper.

The USA finishes the tour with a game against Leeds Ladies on the evening of March 15.
