Sunday Recap: Last-Minute Goals, Hat Tricks Highlight Day Two Action
In Sunday’s action, a stoppage time goal from U-18 Bridge FA’s Raymond Ferro leveled their match against Clearwater after Erik Guerrero put the Chargers ahead just a minute earlier. With a total of four goals after the 80th minute, the match proved to be one of the day’s most exciting.

DeAnza Under-18 also picked up a 3-0 win over AFC Lightning, which was the second shutout win of the weekend for goalkeeper Adam Brownstein. DeAnza picked up goals from Mackenzie Pridham, Kevin Ashworth and Kris Clark to bring the team’s total for the weekend to eight. The DeAnza U-16s also earned their second win in as many days with a 3-0 win against AFC Lightning U-16.

Brian Ownby of the Richmond Strikers U-18 had the day’s only hat trick, scoring three goals in a 6-2 victory over Nomads. Ownby tallied one in the first half and two in the second, including the eventual game-winner. The Richmond Strikers U-16s scored two early goals in the eighth and 17th minutes, and made them stand in a 2-1 on Sunday morning.

Miami’s Kendall Soccer Coalition also picked up two U-16 wins at the Showcase after topping the Richmond Kickers, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon. The U-18 squad had a win and a tie, bringing their combined record to 3-0-1 to begin their Development Academy season to an undefeated start.
