Holbein Replaces Gaven for Tour of China
LOS ANGELES (Nov. 30, 2007) – Kansas City midfielder Aaron Holbein has been called into the U.S. Under-23 Men’s National Team, replacing midfielder Eddie Gaven for the team’s final camp of the year.

Holbein, who made five appearances and four starts in his rookie campaign with the Wizards, will join teammate Michael Harrington on the trip. Holbein has been a part of various Youth National Teams and had a successful collegiate career at Wisconsin, where he was a unanimous All-Big Ten first-team selection as a senior.

Holbein will join the team at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., for a weeklong camp that begins this weekend. The majority of the team will depart on Dec. 8 for China. The U-23’s will play two matches against the Chinese U-23s, first on Dec. 13 at the Changsha He Long Sports Centre in Changsha, then three days later at the Yue Xiu Shan Stadium in Guangzhou.
