The U.S. Under-17 '87 Men's National Team fell to the L.A. Galaxy 3-1 this afternoon on Field 1 at U.S. Soccer's National Training Center at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., to close out the team's week-long training camp. Midfielder Adam Sloustcher found the equalizer for the U.S. in the 29th minute to make it 1-1, but L.A.'s 2004 SuperDraft first round pick, Joseph Ngwenya, was able to find the back of the net twice before the end of the first half for the victory.

The Galaxy struck first in the 27th minute to take a 1-0 lead on a goal by Arturo Torres, but the Under-17s were not detterred as two minutes later midfielder Dax McCarty served in a cross to Sloustcher who was able to beat the sprawling 'keeper.

A minute later, L.A.’s 2004 SuperDraft first round pick Joseph Ngwenya scored his first goal in a Galaxy jersey for the game-winner. Right before the half, Ngwenya gave the Galaxy a two-goal lead and closed out the scoring with his second goal in the 44th minute.

U.S. Soccer Residency graduate Guillermo “Memo” Gonzalez, who was drafted in the first round by the Galaxy in 2003, played for L.A. in the second half. Also suiting up for the Galaxy in second half was 2004 SuperDraft second round draft pick Ned Grabavoy, who started four matches for the U.S. Under-20 MNT at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship last December.

The U.S. Under-17 MNT will travel back to Bradenton, Fla. tonight.
