U.S. Under-20 MNT Tops Manchester United Reserves, Pick Up Second Win in England
MANCHESTER, England (May 8, 2008) -- The U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team topped the Manchester United Reserves, 2-1, with two goals from Peri Marosevic in the second game of their three-game tour of England.

Jorge Flores, who scored in the USA's first game, set up Marosevic's first goal in the 62nd minute. The midfielder dribbled down the left flank, beat a defender and slotted the ball for Marosevic, who finished with a one-timer.

Ten minutes later, Manchester United evened the score, beating U.S. goalkeeper Bill Hamid after a one-on-one breakaway.

But just before the final whistle, the U.S. took advantage of a long throw in from defender Sheanon Williams. Ike Opara, another defender who had joined the attack, flicked a header into the box for Marosevic, who scored with a one-time shot for the second time on the night.

The U.S. will finish its series of friendlies against the Liverpool Reserves on Friday, May 9 at Ansfield. The game, which was originally scheduled for May 10, will be the third game for the U.S. in three days.
