BEIJING, China (Aug. 13 2008) – Playing with 10 men for the final 87 minutes, the U.S. Men’s Olympic Team rallied from down 2-0 late in the second half and, following an 88th minute penalty, nearly tied it when a Charlie Davies header hit the crossbar. But the United States Men were eliminated from the 2008 Olympics following a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria. With Netherlands defeating Japan 1-0, Nigeria and Netherlands advance to the quarterfinals.
