FC Golden State Force (PDL) 2, Orange County SC (USL) 5
The goals came quick for Orange County SC, who rode Victor Pineda’s sixth minute strike and Monday Etim’s 15th minute marker to an early 2-0 lead. FC Golden State struck back from the penalty spot in the 25th, but Jerry Van Ewijk restored Orange County SC’s two-goal lead with a spot kick of his own a minute later. The goals kept coming after halftime when Orange County’s Wuilito Fernandes half volley gave the USL side a three-goal lead, only to see it taken back a minute later by FC Golden State’s Mark Verso. Fernandes took things to 5-2 when he slotted his second of the game home in the 55th minute, but Orange County would have to play out the final 18 minutes with 10 men after Saloman Wbias was shown a red card. The USL side moves on to a Third Round date with L.A. Wolves FC.
